Nowadays, it is a platitude to say that everyone is in the customer service business. For those of us who work in the SMOG check industry, it is easy to think of what we do as being a required service with respect to your customers.
Human psychology is not always the most rational. Anyone who deals with the psychological elements of human nature, such as psychologists as well as attorneys, teachers, or even persons who engage in marketing, will tell you that people are often what is called predictably irrational.
According to the Bureau of Automotive Repair, the STAR Program is “The STAR Program is a certification program for both Test-Only and Test-and-Repair Smog Check stations that wish to certify directed and gross-polluting vehicles. STAR Test-and-Repair stations also must provide repair assistance services under BAR’s Consumer Assistance Program.”
